How it works

The Silky Bamboo Flat Sheet is crafted from 100% Bamboo Lyocell®, a sustainable fabric produced using an eco-friendly, closed-loop process. This innovative method recycles and reuses the solvent used to dissolve the bamboo pulp, drastically reducing waste and making the production far more sustainable than traditional fabric manufacturing. In fact, up to 99% of the solvent is captured and reused, significantly lowering the environmental impact compared to conventional viscose production.

Bamboo itself is a highly renewable resource. As a type of grass, it can grow up to 35 inches (around 90 cm) in a single day! To create our Bamboo Lyocell® fabric, the bamboo is first crushed into pulp, and its natural fibers are carefully extracted and spun into soft, durable yarn.

Additionally, the Bamboo Lyocell® used in Silky Bamboo Flat Sheet meets the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring that every thread is free from harmful chemicals—making it not only gentle on your skin but also safe for the environment.

The Silky Bamboo Flat Sheet is available in two sizes, 150x260cm (single) and 260x260cm (double) to suit most bed and mattress sizes.

How should I take care of/wash it?

[faq_title_end]

Bamboo fabric is a natural and delicate material, with similar care needs to silk. To maintain its softness, quality, and shape, please follow these instructions:

Washing: Hand wash in cool water (up to 30°C) using a mild detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics like silk or bamboo. Avoid harsh detergents containing enzymes, as these can damage the fibers. Minimize the time your bamboo fabric is submerged in water to prevent weakening and distortion.

Drying: Gently pat with a towel to remove excess water and air dry flat. Do not wring or tumble dry.

Ironing: If needed, iron on a low setting.

Stains: Avoid rubbing stains, as this can damage the fibers. Pretreat stains with a mild detergent or dish soap, and let it sit for 10 minutes before washing. For stubborn stains like oil or grease, we recommend professional dry cleaning.

Bamboo fabric is delicate and requires gentle care. Prolonged exposure to water, high temperatures, or harsh soaps may cause slight shrinkage or subtle changes in texture and appearance.

Can bedding be damaging to hair and skin?

[faq_title_end]

Traditional bed sheets are typically made from cotton or a cotton-polyester blend. While these materials are affordable, they can sometimes feel rough, creating friction with your hair and skin, which may contribute to frizz. Additionally, cotton tends to absorb moisture, which can leave your skin and hair feeling dry.

Bamboo sheets, on the other hand, are made from a smoother, softer material. This reduces friction, allowing your hair and skin to glide more easily across the surface. Bamboo also absorbs less moisture, helping to maintain your skin and hair's natural moisture balance.

[faq_item_end]

Should I choose bamboo or silk sheets?

[faq_title_end]

Silk sheets and bamboo sheets are both excellent choices when it comes to beauty sleep. But since the production of silk kills silkworms, it is not an option for vegans or people worried about animal welfare.

Bamboo is considered a highly sustainable material, thanks to its rapid growth and relatively low environmental impact. It is one of the fastest-growing plants, which contributes to its appeal as an eco-friendly resource.
